In order to do this, you firstly need to hunt the Legendary ram. It will spawn somewhere near cattail pond. You'll get a pop-up saying you entered a legendary animal territory, which will start the hunting sequence (out of stupidity, I didn't record it). Then, just go to a fence, and do like I did in the video.
The benefit is 2x the herbs, when picking oregano, thyme or mint (mostly used for cooking).

Also, even if you deliver the whole carcass to the trapper (like I did) you'll still be able to do the trinket in the fence.
