Arthur is confronted by Dutch, who labels Uncle, Pearson, and Mary-Beth as cowards for leaving the gang. Dutch announces a final train robbery, causing Arthur to express doubt. Despite this, Arthur agrees under the condition that John and his family leave the gang.
During the journey to rob the train, Arthur accompanies John to retrieve hidden dynamite. They discuss their concerns and Arthur vows to assist John's departure. They return to the gang, waiting outside Saint Denis.
Their plan to silently board the train fails when it speeds past. Arthur, John, Cleet, and Sadie chase and eventually board the train, engaging in combat with soldiers. Amidst the chaos, a carriage catches fire. Arthur assists John in uncoupling it, but John falls and is seemingly left behind by Dutch.
Arthur and Sadie fight off soldiers while Dutch promises to retrieve John, but Arthur plants dynamite on the armored carriage and loots it before the train crashes. Dutch claims John didn't survive, disappointing Arthur. They return to camp with the loot.
The mission includes objectives such as getting a headshot in Dead Eye after jumping from Dutch's horse, completing within a time limit, maintaining high accuracy during the train fight, and avoiding health items.
