Red Dead Redemption 2 is a beautiful game, but it also is extremely tough on hardware, including the GeForce 3080 Ti. So it was music to our ears when they announced DLSS was coming, meaning higher frame rates. So does it actually translate to higher frame rates? Does it provide high quality visuals?

In a word, no. Its extremely underwhelming and it seems like it's still an alpha build of what will ultimately be a great implementation. 45% increase in frame rates? Sort of? Sometimes? But honestly not really. Maybe it was bad luck that I happened to start at night, but things like lanterns look pretty bad.

But obviously graphics aren't all about technology, they're also about the art direction of the game and we still get amazing scenery.

The long and short of it is, if you want higher frame rates, you gotta turn down certain graphics settings. That helps WAY more than DLSS or even turning down the resolution in the first place. Hardware Unboxed has a great video about which settings to adjust.

I am coming out with a review of the 3080 Ti, stay tuned for that, I am also gonna be releasing footage of Arthur walking around with no UI elements just cause it looks nice. So please subscribe to keep up with these updates, thanks!
