Morgan heads to the South to sell his bear pelt to a trapper, then starts the long trek back to camp. Along the way, the comes across an old homestead, and the body of the former occupant, and deduces the sad fate of a Southern Soldier from the war. As he continues along the road, he finds a young woman in distress and decides to help her get back home, but the couple are waylaid by a pair of highwaymen, and Morgan needs to go on the run as a couple of witnesses spot him at the scene of the shootout!
