Glitches in Red Dead Redemption!

twitter.com/findlestick

Points of Interest:
1. I show that the 'slide glitch' can carryover through some scenes. Might be useful in some situations?

2. A minor glitch at a fence that is near a rock, I found it an amusing paradox, that John goes over the fence to be on the side that he started his climb.

3. I show a variation on the slide glitch. I set up a 'cover-point' away from a house, then -- after killing a horse - John did the slide glitch towards the house and got stuck in a loop between sliding away from the House and 'breaking' a window over and over. Even tho he wasn't actually breaking the window, this tells me that it's possible to do other activities during the slide glitch.

4. I show a glitch that makes the gun undetectable to other characters. They don't respond with fear or aggression, despite having a gun jammed in their faces. Only once you fire, do they realise you are holding the gun...

5. ...If you then hold onto a ledge for any amount of time (while in this state above), John will breakout of holding his gun. If you aim the gun, you will only get the zooming-in of the camera...but no gun. If you then try to aim, John enters an odd stance but no gun firing. If you aim and spam the firing button while falling off a roof, he stays in this odd pose throughout the fall.

6. Fleeing from the law glitch -- I set up a cover-point on a train and got off, then I killed a civilian and slid far away. Since I fled so fast and far... the law arrives, but they arrive minus their arresting and shooting AI.

You can then kill them with zero fuss. But I should have tested as to what would have happened if I had then entered the town again and went on a crime spree...would the police still remain in their passive state as I plundered and murdered?

This really needs to be tested at some point.

7. At the cliffs -- I noticed that the 'falling animation' when falling off a dead horse has a moment that John tries to stand during it. So this can be exploited to use this animation to survive from very high cliff falls. This is done by killing your horse at the moment that it's about to fall off a cliff, the game then engages the 'horse falling animation' (as opposed to the cliff falling animation).

Tho, John will only survive if he did this 'trying-to-stand' animation - either -- at the very moment of impact, or if he manages to stand for a second on a section of flat collision during his fall. (But point of impact seems ideal).

8. At the end of the vid where John go flying up really high - I set-up a cover point on the train, and then John went flying up really high when he got to that post. I later noticed that at that particular post, John will often jump over it when you press the button to 'take cover. (Might this be what causes this flying up glitch during the slide glitch?)

Note that when I moved John left and right during his fall, this actually halts his fall for a second. This state needs to be examined further, can you run while up there? Jump? Or other ground moves and actions?
