Hard mode makes the entire game a lot harder than it is on either of the two other modes (which I found to be relatively indifferent from one another). That means that headshots will remove an entire healthbar, and you simply take a lot more damage overall. I can't really tell if enemies act smarter, but I don't think they utilise different strategies, simply because of the difficulty.

► TIPS & TRICKS

- Whenever you use the N.I.C.W grenade fire mode., NGL-8 Nanotech Grenade Launcher, MKAP-97 or the W.A.S.P., be aware that you'll very often sustain lots of damage when firing them nearby objects or inside small corridors (which will be numerous throughout the game). Whenever you're in close-quarter areas, simply use the shotgun, pistols or rifles instead.

- A health-kit is best picked-up when you are at least one healthbar (or lower) down.

- Grenades have a very awkward air trajectory, being primarily arc-like and vertical, as opposed to a more traditional horizontal direction. As a result, you'll often bump your grenades against the ceiling into objects and back to you, so beware. The sticky grenades do not have this problem as much.

- Headshots are lethal on you, but so are they on enemies. Aim for the head with rifles like the CAR-72 Military Assault Rifle or the N.I.C.W.

► LEVEL TIPS

All-in-all, the final mission of Red Faction 2 is particularly easy compared to a good number of earlier segments from the game, especially the first two chapters. Because you are now in possession of every single gun in the game, the only challenge is expectidly the final bossfight against Molov in his battle armor. For the first two chapters, instead, it's easiest to just run-and-gun with the newly acquired NCMG-44 EMG Nano Pistols, since they are incredibly powerful and shred right through the Nano Elite soldiers.

You're mostly just going to be climbing stairs all the way to the top of Sopot's statue, along with Tangier showing you the way, so both chapters can be completed very quickly without too much hassle. The soldiers drop an abundance of healthpacks, so don't worry about losing some stock along the way. In addition, there are 4 healthpacks at the door before entering the final chapter. Don't forget to reload all weapons (if required) to optimize your damage output.

For Molov, the 'hardest' part will simply be trying to take down his battle tank before he drops too much damage on you. Once he's out, he will start shooting lasers from the railgun, which will drop a full healthpack for each succesful hit, so you need some reserve.

The easiest and safest way to defeat Molov in his tank, is to drop sticky grenades with the Anti-Personnel until he's down. Using the W.A.S.P. works too, but will put you more at risk of self-damage due to the center wall. Once out of his tank, the NPSR-755 autosniper will quickly take him down, whilst still allowing you to easily manoeuver and spam headshots, often taking him down with a single clip. Any other weapon will also work, albeit a lot slower. Avoid using explosives on Molov, as they don't deal that much damage and all have a slow rate of fire.
