Redownload preinstalled games from formatted 2DS and 3DS family of consoles.
One of my favorite You-tubers and inspiration for making my channel, Elliot from the retro future did a video on one of the best looking 2DS systems that was available in Japan only. While watching the video I noticed that the digital copy of Pokémon green was not on the menu, probably because the seller reformatted the console before selling it to him. This has inspired me to make this video on my past experience working at game stores not using the 3DS system transfer tool. I used to tell my customers if they were buying a preowned 2DS, 2DSXL, 3DS or a 3DSXL that had a preinstalled games, that as long as the system transfer was never made from that device, then you are able to redownload it no problem. This video will show you a used 2DS I purchased from Mercari, formatting the system and redownloading the game no problem! So if you have a bought a secondhand 2DS or 3DS (only certain models came with preloaded games), definitely give this a try. You might end up with an extra game in your library to play!
