References To Q-like Star Trek Characters In The Wraith (1986)
In another video on my Youtube Channel Easteregg Psychic I mentioned Actor Nick Cassavetes, gang leader Packard Walsh in The Wraith (1986). In many scenes he bears a striking resemblence to actor John de Lancie. In this video I show other actors in this film, who, through past and future references, resemble godlike characters in Star Trek.
Charlie Sheen resembles Trelane actor William Campbell from the 1966 episode Squaire Of Gothos. He famously chased the Enterprise with a planet.
Jamie Bozian, Wraith's "Gutterboy" resembles Charlie X actor, Robert Walker. He seduced the female crew of the Enterprise with stage magic-like tricks but had far more dangerous powers.
Gary Lockwood, who appeared in classic series episode, Where No Man Has Gone Before, also had superpowers induced by some alien force. I believe he resembles actor Tommy Lee Jones. The Wraith (1986) connection being through opening scene actor Stephen Eckholdt who resembles Jim Carrey. 1995's Batman Forever featured Carrey as The Riddler and Jones as Harvey Dent / Two Face.
Clint Howard was in an original Star Trek series episode in 1967 called The Corbomite Manuever. His character was not unlike Q. Randy Quaid was in Independence Day in 1996 with Brent Spiner (Data).
David Sherrill is Skank in The Wraith, a car gang henchman. Resembling Kevin Costner, a link to later Q episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation can be seen through his portrayal of Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves in 1991. "QPID" was a 1991 Trek episode which co-stared Jennifer Hetrick, Vash.
The title character of The Wraith is Charlie Sheen, who appears as an out of town teenager and has a dual persona as a sort of avenging angel / alien or android. A clear link can be seen to The Borg, an alien race which became one of the most fiercesome foes of Star Trek.
Another Q link can be seen through Wraith opening actor Steven Eckholdt, The Daytona driver who resembles actor Jim Carrey. 2003's Bruce Allmighty saw Carrey assume godlike powers and cause comic mischief for Steve Carrell and Jennifer Anniston.
