I run into a new world. I progress slowly, I end up in a extra little dungeon that gives me the beam gun. An early FAQ says that its the best weapon. Thats prolly late game with certain gear setups but nevertheless, I'm going to run this weapon. Its closer range than the hunting riffle but its fast and spammy.

I also take the singe dragons mats and make a nifty machinegun pistol that has a flamethrower mod skill on it.
