Reptile Expo: Cool Grey Rat Snake: Pantherophis spiloides
This is a cool grey rat snake. He got lucky. He was rehabbed in captivity for 6 months, and got to be a breeding stud for outcrossing for a breeding project. The breeder said that if it does not sell at this expo, the snake will be returned to the wild.
Living in the wild was hard on this snake. He has a good part of his tail missing, and has scares from parasites, and from encounters from other animals that wanted to eat it. I think the battle scars on this snake makes it really cool. It is sad that he has been threw so much, but he got to breed and is going to have nearly all of his offspring reach adulthood. Life does not get better than that.
