In our endeavor to maintain the status quo of having 9S with us via getting him back, a HUGE game-changer took its place. Adam attacked us by himself and, by his own will, he's now PERMANENTLY dead. Not only is he gone, but his half of the control over the machine network is gone.

Will this make more machines passive to us? For humans, the followers of a leader who was cut down would turn aggressive to the one responsible, but for the machines on Adam's half of the network, I assume this would mean he no longer has control over them.

It's hard to say, but I have one more detour before we move the story forward more.

Another thing we can confirm, is that underneath her stoic exterior, 2B has VERY intense feelings when it comes to 9S. I haven't forgotten her seemingly subtle hand clench in the very beginning after finding out that 9S had lost his memories after they blew themselves up. She seemed pretty pissed.

I really resisted the urge to do a cut-away to a clip of GassyMexican shouting "Adam!" at Seananners instead of just typing it in myself. I thought it would disrupt the tone, and as we should learn from Rian Johnson's mistake - you don't sacrifice tone for a cheap joke.
