This is being played on the Ultimate HD Edition version on Steam with several mods installed, namely the HD Project, re4tweaks and the 4GB patch.
The bolt action rifle is already my rifle of choice in this game but under normal circumstances, I would use it alongside an assortment of a few other weapons as well as keep it upgraded so it keeps pace with them, but I decided to try my hand at playing through the entire game using only a vanilla rifle. Of course, it isn’t possible or at the very least, feasible to win every encounter in the game using that and nothing else so I am allowing myself to bend the rules if I feel that it’s necessary, such as using the load point checkpoint trick, grenades, upgrades and as a last resort, a backup weapon.
