This Resident Evil 4 game guide video shows how to solve the puzzle in the Treasury room in the castle. Head left and pull the chain. The other two bells are behind the gate and hit them with pistol shots. The gate will open and you'll find Bloodied Sword.
The main puzzle is about placing the correct swords in the mural's slots:
First picture (standing knight) - pick the Iron Sword
Second picture (kneeling knight) - pick the Golden Sword
Third picture (attacked knight) - pick the Bloodied Sword
Fourth picture (gravestone) - pick the Rusted Sword
The gate should open and you can leave the Treasury.
