This is a video I made very long ago (in 2015, so it's not switched to English language), but forgot about it. It shows that if you defeat the entire first wave before triggering the actual ambush sequence (= the enemies to move), the entre second wave will be frozen and will not move unless you damage them or make them flinch by being touched while you perform a brutal execution on someone else. The thid wave will play as normal.
