Resident Evil VII in 2025 - how does it look? Not bad at all. (a Midnight Release)
0For some reason I forgot that I had Resident Evil VII in my Steam Library until I went looking for something to play tonight and saw it there. I wasn't about to play it, figuring i was in the mood for something faster and shooter-ier.... but then i saw that there were updates - like HDR, and i had to give it a go.
After much fussing around with the settings, I discovered that HDR didn't look great - even though I had it enabled on my primary display - but when i went with 709, it looked fantastic....so dark lol.
Here's 40 minutes of gameplay - I do love the addition of the more visible reticle - SO MUCH EASIER. I mean seriously, what is it with Resident Evil games and their insane need to make firing any kind of weapon such a sluggish, painful process - this simple addition made a world of difference.

*** If the blacks/tones look a bit blocky, it could be that the video hasn't been fully processed yet - HDR - even the mild stuff - can take longer to process. if you have an ipad or any device that has HDR on by default, it will look much better, sooner .
