How does Kafka behave in a failure scenario? What are the different types of failure that can occur? How can we architect our Kafka topology to meet an appropriate RTO and RPO in each failure mode. We will explore the various ways in which Kafka provides for resilience for HA and DR, and the pros and cons of each. We’ll also look at techniques to enable Kafka to span nodes, availability zones, and regions, and consider active/active and active/passive topologies. Finally we’ll look at resilient typologies for the other components of Event Automation.
