In this episode of Retro Flashback, I take a look at Boulder Dash for the Commodore 64, the first title from this amazing computer platform on the show! This is a really great puzzle game with tons of charm and challenge. And the character crosses his arms and taps his foot impatiently when you don't move for a while. How awesome is that?!
Boulder Dash in its original form can not be purchased digitally. It was previously available on the Wii Virtual Console (as stated in the video) but all Commodore 64 games were removed from that service in August of 2013. There have also been various updates and spiritual sequels released for the Game Boy Advance, PSP, Nintendo DS, 3DS, iOS, PC and Xbox Live Arcade. A very limited production "demake" edition was also released in 2011 for the Atari 2600.
At present, Parallax Abstraction has 1,413 views spread across 1 video for Boulder Dash, and less than an hour worth of Boulder Dash videos were uploaded to his channel. This makes up less than 0.08% of the total overall content on Parallax Abstraction's YouTube channel.
