Retro FPS Hack & Slash Dungeon Crawler With Eerie Atmosphere | HARK THE GHOUL demo
2Hello everyone! Here we are with another demo I was meant to play during the Steam Next Fest. This is HARK THE GHOUL, a retro-looking fps hack & slash that plays as a soulslike (but it isn't really one). Atmosphere and pace reminded me a lot to games like Gloomwood and Blood West, but with easier combat (you still gotta be careful though). Map is going to be huge, and I know a lot of people will love that, but I would really appreciate a map, because I felt overwhelmed trying to memorize every path (where I have been and where I still have to go), and also a fast-travel system so backtracking doesn't become such a pain.
I liked the balance between all the different skills, weapons and spells and enemies were interesting enough (different ways to deal with each enemy) and exploration was intruiguing (with a constant eerie feeling).
