In 1982 we got the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. We actually went through two of them (by blowing the first up when the power supply connector broke) before moving to an Amstrad in 1984.

Thanks to StephenCSmith for pointing out I had two publishers drastically wrong. That's what happens when you copy+paste pieces in fusion and then have resolve crash :D

I thought I'd have a look through the power of RetroArch (which is surprisingly fiddly if you expect to use the keyboard) at some 40 year old games and pick out my childhood favourites.

Some of these were almost impossible to play now, they definitely earned their reputation of being very, very difficult.

Spoiler: Elite isn't on this list because I missed out on Elite during the Spectrum era. I had a go on the BBC version but mostly I played it once I got to the PC in the early-to-mid 1990s.
