Retro Gaming Capture Test 38 Part 1 | Evercade VS
More testing of gaming rigs I am building, where I would like each device to be played very quickly without any wiring and also to be able to capture footage where possible with just a few switches turned on. The point of these videos is to see how this type of set up can be done with different devices and maybe help anyone else trying to do a similar thing with a mix of old and new hardware.
A new console version for the Evercade cartridges which outputs a higher resolution and is better for multiplayer games with the 4 USB ports built in. It can also play 2 cartridges at once and will unlock some hidden games. Also the developers have begun releasing arcade versions of games which should please a few people as some criticism has come about the console versions released so far. I picked up a limited edition founder edition which comes with a few extras as well as a standard console. Testing this unit I decided to have a quick look at the UI and then include very short clips from all 37 games on the 4 arcade cartridges released so far (Almost all of the Evercade cartridges should work and maybe all later, we will have to see). I was pleased with my first impression and the performance seems very good and had no problems with the first 4 cartridges. Some games could probably benefit from using a different controller, which should be no problem as many USB controllers should be compatible with button mapping options, which I will look in to later.
