(IMPORTANT) made a little mistake with me talking about the origin of support convo in this review. Well not really a mistake but worded it wrong. When I say the origin of the support convo is in this game, I mean it in terms of how support convo function and how it was shown in the gameplay. but I guess the concept of it was in Mystery of the emblem first, even if you didn't build it up yourself and the game didn't tell you about it.

Hello, Peter 47890 here or Sirus and this is my personal review of Fire emblem: Genealogy of the Holy Wars. Well, being such a huge fan of the Fire emblem series in general.(having played fire emblem sealed swords, blazing sword, sacred stones, path of radiance, and radiant dawn) I knew I had to give Genealogy a try out since it's so well regarded in the fandom. And man, is this game pretty different from 6 and onward. But it also has things that are staples in the series as well. All and all, I have to say I'm glad to give genealogy of the holy war a try out and I can see why this game is so well regarded in the fandom. But the question is, Does it hold up? Well let's find out. Fire emblem: genealogy of the holy war is a grid based srpg that was developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. Do note that this game was never released outside of Japan.

Platform: Super Falmacon
Developer: Intelligent Systems
Publisher: Nintendo

Pros
-Many stables of the fire emblem series originated from this game(weapon triangle, how support convo works, etc.)
-Great story and characters
-Epic and grand battles(biggest in the series)

Cons
-Inventory system being a bit clunky
-Enemy having unfair advantage at times
-Playable characters not being as fleshed out as the latter games.

Summary
Overall, Fire emblem: genealogy of the holy wars has aged elegantly through the years. The visuals are still nice to look at with the 2d sprites and the backdrop during battle animations, the story and characters are interesting and compelling and it`s really immersive with how the game explain the story through the gameplay in terms of the huge maps and how the enemy general maneuver their troops, the music is great, the srpg mechanics is great with both having familiar mechanics that originated in this game, such as weapon triangle and support convo, but also having a few of its own unique mechanics that make it pretty different from the other games in the series. there are some things that haven`t aged well such as the characters not being as fleshed out as the later games with the support convo system, the map being a bit too huge at times, enemy having an unfair advantage, etc. but overall, I can really see why Fire emblem: genealogy of the holy war is so highly regarded by fire emblem fans. Well by fans who played the Japanese games. And personally, it`s probably one of my fav fire emblem games now.

Update: ...... seem like some of the names got an official localization through FE13 dlc, so the name I say in the video might not be accurate.(such as Celice=Seliph or Ichival is Yewfelle)
