I recently got a Retrotink 5x. I however, do not have a 1 chip SNES. So even though it's not the pixel perfect look many people like, I think the capture looks absolutely great. It's definitely a huge improvement on the Retrotink 2x. Really happy with it. I used a Elgato HD60s to capture this. The settings I used for this recording are:

Input source: YPbPr
Output res: 1080p (over)
De-interlacer: Motion Adapt.
Horizontal sampling: SNES/PCE 256

So about this run. This is my second run I finished with 3 e-tanks. First time I did it in a livestream but didn't archive it. It's not a great run, but I see I have a lot of potential for a great time. I definitely have loads of easy timesaves in the Lower Norfair segment. It seems to me I just need to have a decent time out of Phantoon (atleast 14:1X) and not mess up majorly after that. It seems I just got a 44 and the 43 is already on the horizon.
I'm not sure if I'll go for 3 e-tanks every run though. In practice I don't survive the Lower Norfair escape enough for me to believe I can consistently do it in runs. But I might try if my energy count is high going out of Ridley. If i'm like -40 at Ridley, I will gladly take the extra e-tanks for safety. If I pb with a low 44 like that, I will probably have to make the switch.
