I'm away at a convention for the weekend, and YouTube likes to punish creators who don't upload on the daily. So I hope you'll forgive this semi-filler content for a few days, and I hope you'll enjoy watching it for what it is.

I've been thinking about Diablo as a game series a lot recently, and about how it changed over the years, how it went from an atmospheric, dark and lonely quest through the sins and hauntings of a broken down town, to a giant globetrotting kickass adventure romp kicking down the doors of Heaven and Hell as a destined Chosen One.

So, join me, won't you, on a bit of a retrospective ramble, as I play some of the game that started it all (or, at least, a mod that lets the game that started it all be played in HD on Windows 10) and talk through what Diablo used to mean, and how it traded that meaning in for a Skinner Box loot extravaganza.
