Join me as I visit Video Game Wizards in Portland, Oregon, a retro game shop I used to frequent when I lived in the city—and one I’m glad to see still thriving!
I was genuinely impressed by the variety and condition of their stock—especially their CIB SNES games. From Zelda: A Link to the Past to The Adventures of Batman and Robin, their Super Nintendo section was a treat for collectors!
Even more surprising was the size of their Xbox selection, spanning every console generation—a rarity for someone like me living in Japan, where the Xbox brand has never had much traction. Their PlayStation lineup was also solid, including everything from PS1 to PS5, plus PSP and Vita!
This is definitely a shop I plan to revisit on future trips to the U.S. If you're a retro game hunter in the Pacific Northwest, Video Game Wizards is well worth the stop.
