Akihabara & Ueno Game Hunt Part 2 | Trader, Hard OFF & Pricey Surprises!
In Part 2 of my Tokyo retro game hunt, I continue exploring Akihabara and venture into Ueno, checking out four stores in total:
🎮 Trader (Akiba)
🎮 Hard OFF (Akiba)
🎮 BOOK OFF Plus (Ueno)
🎮 Hard OFF (Ueno)
Let’s break it down:
🕹️ Trader in Akihabara might just be the best game store in the entire area. Their game selection is top-notch, and surprisingly, some of their prices rival those you'd find outside the tourist zone. But when it comes to hardware, it’s smart to shop around—better deals may be found elsewhere.
💸 Hard OFF Akiba lives up to its reputation of being pricey, especially with their impressive Pokémon hardware collection. It’s fun to browse, but expect a premium.
📍 In Ueno, BOOK OFF Plus can be hit or miss. This time, nothing stood out—but due to its high foot traffic, it's still worth checking when you're nearby. Deals do pop up from time to time.
🎮 The real showstopper was Hard OFF Ueno. Their hardware stock is incredible—everything from Pokémon handhelds to retro consoles. But be warned: prices are steep, making it tough to recommend for bargain hunters. Still, the inventory alone makes it worth a visit for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
💡 Whether you're hunting for a deal or just window shopping in Tokyo, this video offers a look at the pros and cons of each shop, giving you the edge on your next retro game adventure.
