Review: Heroes of Order & Chaos - Great MOBA for iOS & Android
Hello there, welcome to fabela iMag, my name is Fabian - today with a review of Gamelofts Heroes of Order & Chaos. The game is available as a freemium-app available for iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad and Android. The spin-off to the popular Order & Chaos Online Role-Playing Game is a so-called MOBA game. MOBA stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, which is on the PC a very popular genre, as evidenced by titles like League of Legends or Minions.
Heroes of Order & Chaos is playing in the same universe as Order & Chaos. The story takes place in Haradon where immortal warriors fight since centuries. The game offers two maps, adapted to the number of players. When the game starts you can choose between different game modes. You can choose from player vs. player, co-op and solo.
The gameplay of MOBA games now works as follows. You play in a team of 3 or 5 players with other players online on a map against other online players. On the map, there are three main ways where the players fight against each other. On each side there is a powerful beast. If you beat it, you get special treasures and more experience. To continue to grow in strength, you will have to fight again and again against less powerful enemies along your path.
There are different classes like warrior, mage, helpers and guardians - the more balanced your team is the better. The Guardian is very strong and primarily responsible for the defense. The Warrior can cause a lot of damage. The magician takes the fight more from a distance and has abilities to attack multiple enemies at once. The helper is primarily responsible for the protection of teammates, as he relieves negative effects and enhances the skills of the team members.
Heroes of Order Chaos offers you more than 30 characters, from which you can select. The game is Free2Play, so you don't have to pay for it. New characters or special equipment cost crystals. You will get new crystals during the game or in the shop via InApp purchase. Prices start at € 1.79 and end at € 89.99. However, it must be fair to say that you can't buy any gameplay-benefits. Although you can buy boosts in experience points, skins and characters - this does not mean that the balance of the game between players that spend money and players that don't spend money is messed up. But for example, if you spend money you speed up the forthecoming in the game, so that you can strengthen your character faster. A rotation every week will also unlock five new characters temporarily, without the need to buy them. A nice feature especially for players who don't want to spend any money or do not play as often, but sometimes want to get in touch with new heroes.
Technically Heroes of Order & Chaos is excellently done. The graphics are detailed and always run smoothly across the screen. The orchestral soundtrack fits the game well and the language is English. In the first days after the publication of Gameloft had to struggle with some server problems, so it was quite difficult to get into the game. Meanwhile there are still problems but it gets better every day.
My conclusion:
Heroes of Order & Chaos is a great game and quite unique for iOS-devices. Add to that the great technical presentation and the simple and familiar touchscreen-controlls from other action-RPGs. All in all Heroes of Order & Chaos is a really successful MOBA. Heroes of Order & Chaos is available as a universal app for iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad and Android. How is your opinion about the game? Please write it in the comments. Thank you for watching and see you next time!
