The claim was, if you played through the game, without grinding, you would be able to beat the final boss.

Technically, yes, yes I can. But it was a slog.
Ozzie was there as well.

but overall, my opinion of Chrono Trigger really hasn't changed, but I will give it this, it is a great starter RPG, the cause and effect of time travel is really neat and you can actually beat the game without grinding and it is a quick RPG at ~15 hours to beat.

So yeah, its a good game, has a lot of flaws and weird design choices that don't age well, but it is still good to play through.
