Rex plays XCOM: Enemy Within #15 - Let’s get agent Blackout home without injury this time around
5Okay, so what happened last week? Well, we went on a couple of missions: an alien abduction mission in Mexico and, coincidentally, a landed “Abductor Class” UFO. The Abductor Class UFO is one of the largest UFOs we’re going to have to face. In that mission, we had another shot at capturing a Berserker and got screwed by the XCOM gods again. We had a 90% zap shot and failed. Damn you XCOM gods!! Hopefully we’ll get one of them this week. I really want one.
We turned on the Hyperwave Relay and it’s super cool. First off, it found this super fast, super tough UFO. We tried to shoot it down, but it’s too hard for our Interceptor. I have high hopes that our brand new Firestorms will do better. But what’s really cool about the Hyperwave Relay is it means we’ll know the number and types of aliens we’ll be facing on each mission. That should be a big help.
A lot of other things happened too: We launched 4 satellites, leaving only Mexico unwatched, allowing it and only it to be a base for alien abduction missions. Daz, Annette, and Longbow got promotions. We gave Leah protection against psychic control and Blackout “mimetic skin” capable of making him invisible. And more…
So, what’s coming up? Well, the first things on the calendar is to rescue agent Blackout in a covert op. Afterwards we get a Council Report together with a new stash of much needed moneys.
