Rex plays XCOM: Enemy Within #8 - What’s this? Leah’s in the hospital again?
6Okay, so last week the world was near panic and this week the same is still true. It’s going to be that way until we do the alien base assault mission. If that doesn’t happen this episode, it’s definitely going to happen next one. I hope. That’s pretty much a “do or die” mission. I’ve been doing research and saving money so I can equip my soldiers with plasma weapons for that one. That should help a lot.
Last week we did two missions. The first was a super hard abduction mission in France and Leah got hurt pretty badly. She’s in the hospital now and won’t be out for a while. The other mission was our first “covert op” mission. Instead of fighting aliens, in those we fight misguided humans who think the aliens are the good guys.
When we ended last week’s episode, our satellites discovered a medium-sized alien ship. The first thing we’re going to do will be to (hopefully) shoot it down and then clear the crash site. After that, we’ll get the month end council report and our desperately needed paycheck. We finally got enough satellites up generating income that we can buy some new toys. Beyond the plasma weapons, we plan on doing projects in the Foundry and give some soldiers gene mods.
