I'm beyond excited that Spider-Man 2099 is having a moment. I can remember being a kid and walking to the corner drug store and getting all the 2099 first issues with the foil covers off the spinner racks.

Most kids won't know about this, but comics used to be sold on spinner racks everywhere! Everyone had comics, they often came with trading cards and posters, and had gimmicks like foil covers, or glow in the dark covers. It was excellent! Its a shame that it went away.

Spider-Man 2099 was exciting in 1991, he was a latino way before that was a hot button issue, the future Rick Leonardi and Peter David created was a future where regular people worshipped the heores of the 20th century who had dissapeared.

Spider-Man 2099's suit is actually a Deathshead costume that Migel grabbed and made use of on the run. Its easily my favourite costume period, forget just Spider-Man.

I hope that we see a lot more of the 2099 comics and characters starting to make a comeback, Ghost Rider 2099 was another excellent idea.
