DM Notes: I actually recycled the riddles from a text let's play I created years ago since the protagonist of it spends some time matching her wits against a sphinx. The sphinx's riddles I got from online compilations, but I wanted to make a point of having the protagonist come up with completely original material. I'm happy the players guessed them all (even if they needed a hint or two) since it means the riddles made sense and weren't completely impenetrable. That said, I also would have happily run the combat against the sphinxes I had set up.
