Rigid Force Alpha Stage 1 + Boss
0The first stage and boss encounter. (The game kind of separates them which is a tad odd) A fun side scrolling horizontal shooting game from a small indie developer. Very similar to R Type and Gradius, falls somewhere in between the two I'd say. It doesn't feel quite as tight or cohesive as an R Type game but it is a solid title that deserves a look if your a fan of the later R Type games and Gradius V in particular.
Only real flaw is that the "Arcade" mode is separated into stages and that is how the high scores are tallied, that is further compounded by the fact the the boss encounters aren't a part of an Arcade mode stage and is separated into a Boss rush mode. The real problem here is that the main mission mode that combines the stages and boss encounters lacks the much more complex scoring system which features multipliers and lost space men you can collect for score, instead just being based on enemy destruction and green orb collection.
