RimWorld is a Sci-Fi colony/city building, survival game.
Start with a small team, build your colony, manufacture resources, grow crops, and don't forget defenses. This RimWorld is a dangerous place.
Wild animals will become manhunters and attack your people. Watchout for the Slow moving heavy armour (Turtle) or the fast attack squirrels.
And then there are the other human colonies on this RimWorld, some are nice traders, others a hostile. Defend your new home, and eventually take the fight back to theirs.

Multiple starting scenarios, like:
Crashlanded:
You are forced to abandon your spaceship while passing a world on the edge (rim) of known space, and must survive on the RimWorld with three of the ships crew.

Tribe:
You are a small tribe, build the colony with limited tech, research new and better things, and build bigger.

Sole Survivor:
ame as Crashlanded, but only one crew member survived.

and Custom start:
Choose your crew before and see how you can survive in a custom world.


The game also has a huge modding community both on the forums and in the steam workshop.
