Rising Thrust: The Annal of Time is switching engines
They still sell this engine because they want to scam people. They release new versions of the same bad engine because they want to scam people. They stagnate because they don't know how to push the RPG genre forwards. Good games made with RPG Maker require reworking existing bad systems and fighting against the bad system at every turn taking time away from making the game quicker or releasing the game quicker. RPG Maker's developers didn't invent or copyright Ruby. I should uninstall this and use Godot. I'd probably qualify for a two hour refund on RPG Maker XP if it wasn't for Pokemon Essentials. I know, it's not much money in the long run, but it's the principle of the thing. It's worse than a free option. If it's worse than a free option they should pay you to use it. Or contribute to the crowdfunding of games made with it.
