Riven runs perfectly once you disable the other CPU cores. Launch PlayOnLinux through the terminal with this command:
taskset -c 0 playonlinux
Then Riven will run perfectly without crashing.
In order to install Riven, I had to copy all of the CD ROM data to a folder on the desktop. Install with PlayOnLinux and then copy all the data from the folder to the game folder in the riven wine prefix.
This way you don't need the CD ROM to play the game.
