The RoboCop arcade game, released in 1988 by Data East, is a side-scrolling beat ’em up and run-and-gun hybrid based on the 1987 film.

Developed by Data East and Ocean Software, the game was a commercial success, particularly in arcades across Hong Kong and Japan. It was later ported to various home systems, including the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amiga, NES, and Game Boy. The ZX Spectrum version was notably the best-selling home video game of 1989 in the UK, remaining in the top five charts until February 1991.
