I was fooling around some day ago to get my preview screen working again and suddenly I passed the macrovision security of the OUYA (HDMI)
Follow these steps as I did it:
- Make sure you have a HDMI input, HDMI output and Component input (doesn't have to be connected to any consoles/device at all)
- Open Roxio HD PRO
- You will see it says Microvision detected
- switch HDMI to component and right away press on the options button
- Because there is no component source it will not respond anymore.
- After not responding the options screen will open with HD 720p options etc.
- If the HD 720p is not blank you bypassed the macrovision, if not redo the previous steps.

You can see it worked for me the second time I did it.

Note: I do have a sound problem at this moment, but you can record with sound.
Proof of my Ouya recording with sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJ7zX6jU7m4

This maybe is the easiest / cheapest way to bypass the macrovision without buying new equipement.
