In this video we review the Gamerz Tek 16-Bit HD Entertainment system compatible with Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Famicom game cartridges.

When testing 8-bit NES Clone systems we've played a lot of different hardware, but the system we keep coming back to is the Gamerz Tek 8-bit HD. It provided a great value, had a good color palette, high games compatibility and good controllers. Gamerz Tek is back with the first 16-bit SNES and Super Famicom clone system we've tested with HDMI outputs with the 16-Bit HD. Will it stack up to the competition? Can it beat the SNES Classic Edition? Let's find out!

If you haven't had a chance to do so yet make sure to check out our unboxing video, available at the following link:

To test the 16-bit HD we got some of our favorite SNES and SFC games, along with the Super Game Boy. We did try to use the Retro-bit Retroport and RetroGen and neither adapter outputs via the HDMI; with those adapters they actually have separate AV-outputs for you to use and bypass the on-board video output entirely.

Game compatibility has been nothing short of flawless for me thus far. Everything I own the 16-bit HD has played and played well Unlike the 8-Bit HD and other similar NES-clone systems this system did not suffer from any of the audio issues those systems had. The only minor issue I've seen has been the colors looking dark on some games, most notably Super Mario World which we showed.

The controllers included with the system are really quite nice. In fact minus the start and select buttons they felt identical to my Super Famicom controller and better than the cheap eBay knockoff SNES controllers I own. They are comfortable and responsive, and best of all they come with a long cord and strain relief, making sure you can use them for a loooooong time

The 16-bit HD from Gamerz Tek is a great machine, and for less than the cost of the NES Classic or SNES Classic you can play your real cartridges and know they will work. The audio is great, video is very good and the controllers work great. If you're in the market for a SNES Classic and can't find one, you want an HD-Equipped SNES and don't want to mod or just want to relive some of the greatest games ever made the Gamerz Tek 16-bit HD is a great console and a lot of fun. I really like it and can't wait to re-play all my favorites of days gone by.

Why it RoX:
- 720P Output via HDMI
- Plays your entire library of SNES and Super Famicom games
- Great Value
- 16:9 and 4:3 switch
- Included controllers are really good
- Compatible with Super Game Boy
- Includes a great lineup of accessories
- 2-year warranty

What could be improved:
- Grip on the cartridges is a little tight
- Color palette off in a few spots (Super Mario World most noticeable)
