Lead graphics developer kd-11 recently merged a huge pull request containing various improvements to general graphics emulation as well as the OpenGL and Vulkan renderers. More or less every game could see some improvements from these fixes, and at the very least Nvidia users will find that the general issue of broken or missing shadows in most games is now fixed. There were also technical improvements such as a unified shader cache across both renderers which will simplify further development in this area.
In this video we look at several representative games and compare how they used to run, to how they now run.
