This tutorial shows one way to use a Common Event to select random treasure and uses Variables to save the results so the player can also leave the treasure in the chest and the same treasure will still be there when they return. This uses Scripts to save item names inside Variables. I forgot to show something so there is a quick PART 2 as well. This should work for MV too.
