Proof of concept works. You can share one RJ45 cable between your RS485 stuff and a fully functional TCPIP traffic. There is always a catch tho... the ethernet network will run at 100mbs...

This kind of speed was probably acceptable like 15 years ago while now you probably want at least 10 times that. Still, perfectly fine for accommodating other IoT devices that rely on ethernet or for mild computer use.
