Arduino ModBus: Ethernet Cable Splitter

This could be old news for everyone but I have figured out that these "terrible" network splitters seems to be PERFECT for what I am trying to do.
I know I can use the ethernet shield and use the "modbus" over TCP/IP but I just find that solution a bit mehhh. I like the I/O shield because of the fact that it accepts female pins (they hold better) and they don't get as hot as the ethernet shield. And in an enclosure heat is a factor.

The only real problem for me is linking the "nodes" into a wired network. And since I am not a fan of soldering this little adapter thingo could be my best solution. Still, will need to do more tests to be sure that it works EXACTLY how I want it to.
