Was honestly hoping that the efficiency would surpass the rest of the 40 series, but sadly it falls in line with the rest of its family suffice to say it's not a bad efficiency though. Had to do things differently this time on this card though I was able to get better efficiency by locking and downclocking the memory on a memory intensive algorithm have that make sense. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to downclock the core as much as I would have liked I was having the same issues with this card just like the 4070ti where if you downclocked the core to low the hashrate would drop off of the face of the earth. The 16 pcie pin 4070's may potentially have better efficiency then the 8 pin 4070's because of a better power delivery from the 16 pcie pin.

Disclaimer: These overclock settings may not get you the same results depending on the gpu that an individual may have, whether it's a different aib gpu, the exact same gpu, or even the same gpu but with different memory with the exact same overclock settings applied not all gpu's are the same silicon lottery is unfortunately a thing.
