NVIDIA's RTX GPUs launched without any RTX features publicly available, but they're finally beginning to get implemented in games. Part of this hinged on DXR's availability via a Windows update, like the Battlefield V implementation, and part of it was waiting on developers. FFXV already had DLSS for its built-in benchmark, but that benchmark has proven difficult to trust in the past. With its full implementation in the real game, we return to FFXV to benchmark DLSS vs. TAA vs. No AA, then look qualitatively at the differences between DLSS and traditional anti-aliasing methods. If you're wondering how DLSS works, it's explained in this video and accompanied with visual examples of gameplay differences.
We may publish an article for this one. TBD. The holiday season means we're slammed.
