Hardware news this week has been busy with innovation, despite normal end-of-year slowdowns. MIT's advancements on transistor fabrication are beginning to paint a path down to 2.5nm, though there is no immediate means to bring this to mass production. Intel, meanwhile, is cranking away at 10nm and has plans to launch in 2019, but also silently launched its B365 chipset. AMD is facing 'brain drain' challenges as chief Radeon officials depart for Intel's graphics team, led by ex-AMD executive Raja Koduri, and NVIDIA's shares tumbled with SoftBank wanting out.
