Ruff 'N Tumble (Amiga) - A Longplay Guide and Review - by LemonAmiga.com
Ruff 'N Tumble
In this feature we take a longplay run through one of the best platformers on the Amiga. Ruff N Tumble features 16 levels spread over 4 worlds, and you'll see me complete them all in this guide, along with a few secrets and visual tips to help you achieve the same thing. Sorry if the narration starts a bit quieter and slower then usual; I tried to pace myself for probably one of the longest reviews I'll ever record. Needless to say I think this game deserves high praise, probably in the region of 90%. Thanks again for watching.
Production Notes:
I originally started this review six months ago, but the first batch of screen recordings didn't work very well, and were ultimately deleted. Two months ago I decided to have another try. The raw footage was recorded over two days; levels 1.1 - 3.1 were done in one take on day 1, (then savestated), levels 3.2 - 4.4 were done in one take on day 2. You may notice this second recording is visually sharper on screen than the first. Another savestate was used to illustrate the inescapable trampoline bug on level 3.2.
The voiceover was also completed in two parts; levels 1.1 - 4.2 ended at about 11pm on day 3. Then I got up and did 4.2b - 4.4 straight away the day after - so you'll notice the sound difference in the voice. ;) I completed the video in mid November 2012 but then got sidetracked with Sensible Soccer and releasing the video for that, all while Ruff sat on the shelf. The final 720p file was uploaded 7/12/12, was 3.1Gb in size, and took 8.5 hours to upload.
