System: PS2
Recorded using an El Gato Game Capture HD with my physical FAT PS2 in OBS on my MacBook Pro.

Timer begins upon pressing the Chapter 1 text and stops when the Final Boss takes the final hit. (since I'm using an El Gate, my timer starts early at the beginning due to the delay, but also stops early at the very end, so it evens it out).
Im about 90% happy with this run. The first few mins i went pretty safe with the strats until i hit the end of Chapter 2 and got the glitch at the boss. At which point i knew i had to do some risky things from then on just because its a rare occurrence for a glitch to appear there and i needed to take advantage of that rare opportunity.
There were a few times where i wasted 5-10seconds because i sort of forgot what i was doing (it was late and i had been up for a very long time so i suppose i was just a bit tired).
My ultimate goal was sub 3hrs and i just barely missed that.
Also, this run was not perfect obviously. The biggest issue being that i used two Crossbow shots that did nothing for me. I shot at the Brute when i believed to be locked on when i was not. As well, i shot at the final boss when they had been in the "ball form", thus wasting an additional shot. Im not sure exactly how much time that wasted but if i had to guess, with all the hiccups and safety strats, i lost about 2-3mins overall.
I also died in one area, which, is the part of the run I despise most.
Notice that i had saved one time as well, before the tram ride right before the final boss fight. This is because last time i had done this run, the game froze in the movie sequence that followed that sequence so for safety, i saved.
For the run, I essentially mapped the entire game out for the run. I used some guides for making note of the door codes and also for boss strats (lightly).
Special thanks to "Slothrop37" for the Walkthrough guide on Gamefaqs; made on 12/12/02 and as well, "true_Nauthiz" for the Boss Faq on Gamefaqs; made on 6/28/06. Lastly a thanks to "MajorMajor" for the Weapons Faq on Gamefaqs; made on 10/25/02.
Oh and a huge thanks to "MachineDJP" of YouTube for making me realize that theres DLC for this game on the XBOX, that was surprising to discover! (which subsequently I have purchased and plan on doing a run of).
The recourses on this game were very limited and did provide solid help!
I thoroughly enjoyed mapping out and practicing this run. I played the game (on XBOX i believe) as a child and I came across it at my local favorite retro game store. I decided not to buy it then came back the next day and did so because I couldn't get it out of my head! I then brought it home and after a casual play through, realized there was no speed run of it at all! (I'm a huge fan of speed runs and do run other games).
This game had great ambition and from what i read, 5years production time i believe but after 4.5, they scrapped it and spent half a year redoing it all. I could be factually incorrect but not by much. Obviously great talent was used to voice the games characters and I only could recognize two voices immediately after replaying it (Lance Hendrickson and Michael Ironside; Henriksen plays in one of my favorite movies, Pumpkinhead. Ironside of Scanners, another favorite of mine).
My biggest gripe of the game itself are the unskippable movie sequences which I'd venture to guess take up about 30ish minutes of the games run time in the run.
A huge thanks to everyone associated with the games production. Its very evident that the ambition was present, but due to production issues, it just fell short of being mind blowing! Hence the game falling under the radar. It was meant to be part of a trilogy but alas, this lack of production ultimately made it just a standalone game with a huge cliffhanger ending. (which for the record, the final boss fight here is my worst time ever...literally).

ALSO THANKS TO MY GIRLFRIEND FOR PUTTING UP WITH MY GRIND FOR THIS RUN MAPPING AND PRACTICE! SHE WAS VERY SUPPORTIVE!
