Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Game Cards, which currently consist of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom work on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles (Standard, OLED & Lite).

This is because Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Game Cards contain both the Nintendo Switch Game and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack. Once inserted into the console, the corresponding version of the game can be played.

Other Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games include Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV and Kirby Forgotten land + Starcrossed which are both due out in 2025.

As a reminder Nintendo Switch 2 games, such as Street Fighter 6 (Game Key Card) and Mario Kart World (Full Game on Card) are NOT COMPATIBLE with Nintendo Switch consoles. Only Nintendo Switch 2 Editions are compatible.
