We got news recently that the proposed *very* p2w changes to Runescape 3 and their hero pass have been reverted due to player feedback.

Things like the 20% damage reduction won't be part of the hero pass and Jagex is even refunding people who purchased the hero pass before it was scaled way back.

But there's something about this that reminded me of Diablo Immortal and how when that came out it was so egregious in its monetization it felt like research for what players would accept.
