RuneScape: Return Adventures - Part 10 - Recipe for Fishcakes
Well, here's a short and enjoyable episode to prepare us for the next one being long and dull! This is Part 1 of a Recipe double-feature so we'll be taking care of two more subquests next time, and a little something extra too.
So at one point in this video I mentioned "inconsistencies," so I wanted to talk about that down here in the description just for fun (and clarification). Of course, it's about this episode AND next episode so if you care about spoilers for Recipe then don't read into this! So...
- During the Goblin Generals subquest, Mudknuckles hears that the generals are in trouble and says that's why they haven't been shouting at him... but the generals are SAFE in the present. Unless they just forgot he existed, there's no reason they would no longer be "shouting." In this case, the helper is contradicting the quest.
- During the Mountain Dwarf subquest, Rohak hears that his unnamed son is in trouble, but insists that he's fine, because he IS fine in the present. In this case, the helper does NOT contradict like Mudknuckles did.
- AND THEN, during the Pirate Pete subquest, the player says that he can't tell Murphy what's wrong or time and space may be destroyed. Murphy is NOT EVEN DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE SUBJECT, unlike Mudknuckles who cooks for the generals and Rohak who's the father of the dwarf. Murphy is just involved to help you do what you need to do, and the player insists that he CANNOT tell him. Don't you think, Adventurer, that this event would've ALREADY HAPPENED when you told 1-7 other people about the Culinaromancer's spell? This is made even dumber, because...
- [Spoiler for next episode] In the Evil Dave subquest, you NEED to tell Evil Dave about HIS OWN PAST SELF BEING IN TROUBLE, and he gives you the REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO SAVE HIS PAST SELF. If his saved self's help is required to save his frozen self, HE CAN'T BE SAVED.
My only theory on how this could make ANY sense is that this is one of those alternate timeline situations where the Adventurer initially used trial and error and fed Evil Dave every mixture of spices imaginable, until finally it worked, and then told him to remember so that the Adventurer of another timeline could then ask the rescued Dave what curry he used... or something like that. Either way, it still hardly makes sense if at all and contradicts all three of the other instances I listed here, let alone being the one thing that ACTUALLY should cause a paradox.
Okay, now that I'm finished talking about that, NOW we can get to the music.
